Teams and Individuals
Complete teams or individuals between the ages of 8-18 are welcomed. Teams will be made up of all girls or all boys. Instructional programs are offered for 6-8 yr olds. The age brackets are:9-11 Fundamentals; 11-13 Freshman; 14-15 JV; 16-18 V and 18+ Adults. June 30 is the cutoff date for all age brackets. Fees are as follows: League fee- $40.00 per player; Team or sponsorship fee- $375.00. These fees guarantees 13 games plus league t-shirts for all players. All teams will be in the playoff. League Rules
- Coaches are responsible for all players on the roster. A complete roster must be submitted by May 15. A consent form and birth certificate must be handed in for all players on the roster. Players/Coaches are responsible for league fees.
- All Teams MUST have 13 players either filled by the coach or the board. Player will have the same color jerseys.
- There will be no grace period. All teams must be ready to play at their scheduled times. Players will not be allowed to practice on open court.
- Playing Time: 9 minute quarters running time. Clock stops on dead ball the final 3 minutes of overtime play. Clock stops on all technicals and injuries. Overtime will be 2 minutes. Clock will stop on dead ball the final 1 minute of overtime play. Each team will an additional time out.
- Teams will be allowed 2 timeouts per half. Timeouts will not be cumulative.
- Coaches will be allowed to stand but will be restricted to the designated coaches box. Referee can take this away.
- All Technical Fouls will be a two(2) shout foul, and the player must be taken out of the game for 3 minutes. Occurance of Technical Fouls in the same game will result in a one game suspension.
- Abusive language, trash talk, taunting, and other abusive activities by players, coaches, or fans will not be tolerated. All offenders will be removed from the game and the courtside and receive a one game suspension, including abusive fans. Any assults by an adult or player on any persons will result in automatic suspension from the league. Any player or coach that receives 2 suspensions will not be allowed to play or coach any future games. Poor behavior by teams, players, parents, coaches, and team spectators will result in the team, coach, or player being disqualified from the remaining portion of the League Tournament, without refund or recourse. This will be strictly enforced.
- All warm up balls must be supplied by the individual teams.
- Players and parents will be asked to help out in the concession stand and other duties. We are trying to make this league competitive and a place where players can showcase their talent to college coaches. Please be a part of the solution, not a part of the problem. Remember to do your helping out. Players will be paid $5.00 to keep the clock and book.
Code of Ethics
- SRH Rules of Conduct and Disciplinary Action:- For those involved in the SRH program as an official, parent, coach, or player, Code of Ethics will be outlined. SSSRH will encourage good sportsmanship and fair play. Each SRH coach will be totally responsible for the conduct of her/himself and her/his players. Absolutely no abusive or vulgar language will be tolerated. Smoking will not be permitted on playing courts. Alcholic beverages will not be allowed at any games or practices. Unsportsmanlike conduct or disrespect for the referees will not be tolerated. Both players and coaches will refrain, at all times, from abusive and unwarranted disruptions.
- Benefits for the SRH Player:-In the U.S., and throughout the world, basketball is played by millions of children of all ages. It is an exciting game, with plenty of opportunity for high school competition, college scholarships, and possibly, professional careers. We will strive to provide all SRH participants the opportunity to play organized basketball in a healthy controlled environment during the formative years.
- Conduct of Respect:- It is essential that players show respect to their coaches and that league officals show decency and consideration for their players.
- Parent Conduct:-It is imperative that parents, at all times, conduct themselves in a proper manner. No swearing at or harrassment of officials will be permitted. In the event conduct is not acceptable, the Board of Directors may take disciplinary action which may include asking the parents or player to leave the premises.
- No coach or spectator shall at any time use signs, gestures, degrading personal comments, or any act, which will reflect unfavorably upon opposing coaches, players, or spectators. SRH encorages and requires good sportsmanship and respect from all its participants. SRH will enforce this policy to the maximum.
